Those of you who have been following Fishbowl for a while will remember that Jo Hook came along and did a solo set about a year ago (check the July 2006 archives for the recording of that performance). Well, earlier this year she came back, this time with her two backing singers (Emily Rogers and Hannah Greer) alongside her.

Hello there!

Here we are with another exclusive live recording from the Fishbowl. The charismatic Mr Alfie Noakes, a maestro of the guitar and songwriter of depth, played a set at the Fishbowl in March.

“Like Nick Drake but with bigger balls” was how one particularly eloquent member of the audience described Alfie while watching him perform. Couldn’t have put it better meself.

Here’s another Fishbowl Live Special for ya! This week, we’ve got Zoe Konez, a singer/songwriter from Hastings, who actually runs her own acoustic nights along similar lines to the Fishbowl!

Zoe came along to The White Hart at the end of January and played a great set, full of altered tunings, complex rhythms, edgy lyrics and passion-filled vocals, with Paul B from And His Voice Became joining her on drums for one song.
