Small Bathtubs for Cramped Bathrooms

by Robert Lawson on August 28, 2010

Shopping for a bathtub, which one can comfortably soak in yet fit into a cramped bathroom, is quite difficult. Most small bathtubs these days do not have the space to allow an enjoyable soaking, particularly for taller individuals.

Whether you plan on installing a basement bathroom or redesigning an old bathroom, the integration of small bathtubs would certainly be a functional addition. For those who want to have a bathtub that they can soak in after a tiring day from work should find a tub model that has a sufficient depth that will allow them to assume a comfortable sitting position. This particular type of bathtub must be able to fit even in the smallest of bathrooms.

A claw foot bathtub in particular is designed for individuals who want to soak in a luxurious bathe despite having a cramped bathroom. This type of bathtub is a lot deeper than most bathtub models, and allows the user to soak in deep waters. A Japanese bathtub is also a good alternative. The traditional Japanese bathtub uses less space but is deep enough for a person to sit down and enjoy soaking.

Small bathtubs placed at the corner of the bathroom are also becoming popular these days. This type of bathtub is a far cry from the traditional, rectangular shaped bathtub. They are best suited for homes with unused corner bathroom spaces.

Homeowners essentially have more options these days for a smaller bathtub. Tubs that are widely sold in the market now come in a wide assortment of shapes, sizes, styles, and designs. For those planning to buy one for a basement bathroom, it pays to shop first. Regardless of whether you are installing a basement bathroom, or upgrading an existing bathroom, it is necessary that you get the actual measurement of the area where the tub will be placed to ensure a perfect fit. This would save time and money in designing a basement bathroom especially for basements with limited space.

Bathroom showrooms and home improvement shops can provide homeowners with a wide range of small bathtubs for use in cramped bathrooms. Homeowners should however be certain with the size of their bathrooms so they can pick the appropriate type of small bathtub.
