The Harry Potter movie series has been popular from the very start. In fact, it was popular before it started! The popularity of the book series by J.K. Rowling was the first inkling that this was the beginning of something very big. As with many popular stories, fans enjoy collecting items that remind them of the story and characters or that allow them to role play scenes from the stories.
Harry Potter wands are an integral part of the story line in the books and movies. Because of this, they’ve become a favorite collectible item for fans. Each wizard in the Harry Potter universe has their own wand and each wand is unique to that wizard. In the books, characters’ wands are described as being made from some type of wood with the addition of magical components like dragon heartstring or phoenix feathers. While the wands in the story are made of wood, collectible wands are typically made of resin which is much longer lasting. Generally, the wands in the movies are based on the descriptions given in the books, and the collectible wands follow suit. In a few cases – for example, the wand of Severus Snape – there is no description given in the books so the collectible wand is fashioned after the wand created for the movies.
