On Saturday, we played a set at the excellent MMM07 festival in Mayfield, East Sussex.

Great weather, lovely location, receptive audience, all in all a very professional well-run event.

A big thanks to Lesley and the other organisers for giving us the opportunity to play.

Just a quick update on where we are with the new Little Fish Big Pond album, which is taking a LOT longer than we anticipated.

It’s not down to musical differences ot that we’re having disagreements or any other typical band-type conflict. It’s purely down to the lack of time available for recording, given that we’re all working. And when we do get together as a band, it’s either to gig or to rehearse for gigs.

Anyway, the good news is that we now have all the individual tracks recorded, so the next step is to go into a professional studio for mixing everything down. We could do what we did with the last album (COD), and mix everything here at Carrot Cottage, but I think we need some fresh ears and a different environment for mixing, so we’re going to Lo-Tek Studios in the Ashdown Forest (home of Bombay Monkey, Sound Sanctuary and Origami Dinosaur), where we’ll be working with Andy Phillips (aka Andy Organ), a hugely talented producer.

So that should be happening withn the next two or three weeks. The plan is to have the album mixed by the end of July, which gives us the month of August for mastering, duplication and printing. Cutting it a bit fine for having the album ready for Party in The Dark in early September, but that’s still the plan. Watch this space….
